Our Summer Immersion 200 hour program is back…
It’s back! Simply Yoga’s three-week 200-hour Summer Immersion program has been adapted from our successful eight-month program to accommodate people whose schedules demand immediate immersion or for those who understand they learn most effectively by plunging themselves into a subject. This program provides transforming opportunities for individuals to deepen their personal understanding and knowledge of yoga alongside those who are committed to teaching and leadership journeys. Together we create a dynamic, supportive community in which hard work, commitment, focus, and practice yield dramatic results physically, mentally, and emotionally. Students completing the training will have earned credentials that meet and exceed the standards of Yoga Alliance so that they may become certified with that organization.
Over the course of three intensive weeks-one each in June, July and August, students will enter the fluid universe of yoga and will emerge ready to teach or to practice with more confidence and understanding. Each day’s training will be steeped in learning asana (poses) around which will be wrapped the foundational aspects of the yoga tradition: philosophy, breath work, anatomy, meditation, the roles and boundaries of teachers and students, the energy (subtle body), and more. Out-of-studio hours required include practicing in studio on a weekly basis, reading, written homework assignments, and teacher observations of up to an additional 50 hours over the course of the summer.

Fall 200 Hour Teacher Training Session begins August 22nd, 2019
Our 200 hour teacher training has been around for over 7 years now! It is led by Christa Smith, 500 E-RYT and Samantha Kosakowski-Beck, 500 RYT. Our program focuses on the required Yoga Alliance standards with an emphasis and actually teaching yoga classes. Many times students walk away from a program without feeling comfortable to teach in a classroom so this is our priority. We want to make sure every student is 100% ready to teach once graduating.
When we launched Simply Yoga, we were on a mission to create a friendly, non-intimidating, inspiring community where anyone from any walk of life could learn yoga and fit in. We take the impact of the practice seriously but we take ourselves and our community very lightly. This same warm energy pervades our studio’s teaching certification program. You’ll be surrounded by a lighthearted, non-judgmental, energetic community that very often leads to the cultivation of lifelong friendships. A consistent practice is recommended before enrolling in the program.
Our 200-hour teacher training is a Yoga Alliance-approved curriculum that focuses on all 8 limbs of the practice including adjustments, alignment, anatomy, philosophy and basic Sanksrit vocabulary to teach an all-level Vinyasa Flow Class. Students are required to read several books and complete written homework. Weekly Asana classes are required and a discount is given on classes.
